ORC BEDROOM RETREAT WEEK 5
It’s week five of the One Room Challenge and I am feeling slightly stressed about finishing up this room. I had a bit of a setback on finding fabric for our headboard makeover (who knew Covid also affected fabric timelines,) but it feels like it’s slowly coming together. If you’re not already familiar with this challenge, twice a year, you can participate as a guest, alongside 20 featured designers, to join a 6-week challenge to recreate one room. The event was created and is hosted by Linda Weinstein of Calling it Home and Better Homes and Gardens. With hundreds of guest participants, you can be sure to find an endless amount of inspiration and original ideas by following along here. We are enjoying the connections we have made so far with fellow guest participants!
This week was full of lots of waiting. Items have been slowly showing up to my doorstep for our bedroom and I promise to have much more to share next week! We didn’t get much installed this week, but the one thing we did manage to get done was this gorgeous Juniper Print Shop art. We bought an Ikea Bjorksta frame for this 55x22 print. I wanted a two toned frame, so I ended up having to paint the front gold, but left the sides black to add a little dimension. I was a little intimidated by the Bjorksta frame, but the ladies at Juniper created a straight forward tutorial video that made the installation a breeze.
Next week we will be adding lamp shades, curtains, a new ceiling fan and lots more wall decor. I have a lot to get done this week, but I’m really excited to finish this space up!
